Eastern promise at Heathland School
Youngsters at Heathland School showed their Eastern promise with an array of dazzling displays last week.
Pupils at the secondary school in Wellington Road South, Hounslow, performed songs and dances from as far afield as Turkey and Japan at a trio of special charity shows.
About 200 children were involved in the annual Eastern Evening, held to celebrate the school's melting pot of cultures.
They performed to packed audiences on Tuesday and Wednesday night last week, raising thousands of pounds for Dimbleby Cancer Care.
Students also put on a free show for youngsters at Orchard Junior School, in nearby Orchard Road.
Pupils planned the entire event, from auditions to lighting, and entertainment ranged from Japanese kabuki theatre to a dance routine combining Michael Jackson's moonwalking with bhangra dancing.
