Reunion at Elvis Costello's former school
More than 120 old boys and girls were reunited last Friday (19) at the school where pop star Elvis Costello met his first wife.
Pupils and teachers from throughout the decades - including Michael Kelm, who left in 1987 and travelled all the way from Belfast - caught up with former pals at the secondary school in Bath Road, Hounslow.
The school opened in 1960 as Archbishop Myers, before changing its name in 1973. Reunions take place every two years, with a particularly grand event planned for the 50th anniversary in May 2010.
David Sheath, former head master and chairman of the Past Pupils' Association, explained how former pupil Elvis Costello, had rocked up at one reunion several years ago with his childhood sweetheart who he'd met at the school and later married.
Head teacher Paul Enright said he had enjoyed touring the school last Friday with staff and students who had been there as long ago as the early 60s.
