Baby has the power
The bonny lad, whose name means 'powerful', weighed 7lb 8oz but his calm temperament suggests an altogether more placid character.
"He seemed to be in a rush because he was meant to be born on October 27," said Mrs Iqbal, whose first son by husband Mohammad is called Hamaz.
She added that the birth itself was easy and took just a little over two hours.
Hashim was the second baby to be born in West Middlesex Hospital's new natural birth centre, which boasts soothing beds, calming music and relaxing aromas.
