PiT Stops for parents of disabled children in Hounslow

Posted by Parents in Touch on Oct 22, 08 08:36 PM in Good Causes

PIT_logo-main.jpgPiT Stops - disability questions and answers over coffee - have a new venue in Hounslow High Street, and a regular date in your diary; the first Tuesday in each month.

We will have our first coffee morning in the Community Room at Holy Trinity Church, on the corner of Montague Road and Hounslow High Street between 10am and 12 noon on Tuesday, 4 November.

These informal sessions are open to parents and carers of children with disabilities and special educational needs seeking information and advice.

PiT volunteers are all parents of disabled children themselves and provide a parent-to-parent support service that gives a friendly welcome to all.

Michèle Rooney, formerly of the Kids Hounslow Information and Support Project, is joining us to share her comprehensive local knowledge.

A large part of the Kids caseload involved Disability Living Allowance issues. Michèle said: "Bring your DLA forms with you and PiT will help".

You can join PiT (it's free) by phoning 020 8994 9602 (office hours Tuesday to Thursday, 10am until 2pm) and asking for a membership form, or by sending an email to parentsintouch@btconnect.com

Members receive a regular newsletter which will contain future dates of PiT Stops.

We'd like to hear from you.
