On the 1st November 2008, SFIDA (Challange) the Kosovan/Albanian/Macedonian and Gorani Women's Group in Hounslow, held an event at the Multicultural Centre, Derby Rd, with the theme of: Working and Acting Together to Fight Extremism Amongst Young People.

More than forty people attended this event with the hope of learining about education, youth engagement and active citizenship and to encourage intergration, inter-cultural dialogue and dialogue with religion.

There were representatives from the local Police, Hounslow Mosque and the Somalian Community which was covered by the Albanian press. The younger people found the presentation by the police very useful and interesting during the small group workshops.

Ms E Shehu was one of our youngest people who were very eager to learn about how the press and media deals with this delicate issue on extremism and how it may influence and affect the minds of some of the most vulnerable people in our communities- the young people.

Ms G Jata (12), Ms B Matia(13) and Ms I Kastrati(13) shared with the others the importance of working together, to be part of a community and identify the meaning of what extremism is. The parents, Mr F Terziu, Mr F Zasella and Mrs L Islami, thanked the police for their advice and help on how to be couragous of one's convictions and how to seek appropriate professional advice.

Also, the speeches from Mr A Craig and Mr A Ahmed was helpful with the success of the event.
SFIDA will continue to with young people and parents to help eachother on how to prevent their children not to be influenced by extremism and radicalism.
