Elderly woman injured in crash
A woman was rushed to hospital with a serious head injury after a crash at the border of Hounslow and Heston yesterday afternoon.
The 62-year-old is believed to have been hit when two cars collided in the Great West Road, at the junction with Vicarage Farm Road.
A Nissan Almera and a Honda Accord were in collision at the junction just before 2pm and the Nissan was flipped onto its side, injuring the pedestrian.
Paramedics rushed her to Charing Cross Hospital but early reports indicate her injuries are not life threatening.
Vicarage Farm Road and part of the Great West Road were closed for several hours following the crash, causing huge tailbacks on surrounding highways.
