Horror film Mum & Dad inspired by Hounslow

mum and dad.jpgThe nightmare tale of a Heathrow worker trapped in a house of horrors, Mum & Dad, has been described as Hounslow's answer to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The film is set in Hounslow West, just around the corner from where director Steven Sheil grew up.

The horror flick follows the story of Polish immigrant Lena, who misses her last bus home from Heathrow, where she works as a cleaner.

After accepting an offer of help from her colleague Birdie, who lives nearby with her 'adoptive parents', she is knocked unconscious and wakes to find herself imprisoned in a suburban house of horrors.

A spokeswoman for the producers said Mr Sheil had deliberately chosen his home town as a setting for his debut feature because he felt the noise of the planes contributed to the chilling atmosphere.
