The winning team from Hounslow CadetsA team of cadets from Hounslow braved the bitter cold to triumph in a hard-fought cross country competition.

The senior girls team from Hounslow's 194 Princess of Wales Royal Regiment ran away with the annual Middlesex & North West London trophy last weekend.

They fought off competition from more than 120 teenagers over the 5km course in Perivale on February 1 and will represent London at the Regional and National Cross Country Championships later this month.

Cadet Sergeant Sophie Addis, 17, who studies at Lampton School, said: "It's fantastic that we're bringing the cup back to Hounslow. We have good runners in our unit and I think we put out our best team to win."

Hounslow Army Cadets meet every Monday and Wednesday at the Cadet Centre in Hanworth Road, Hounslow, from 7.30-9.30pm.

Youths can gain GCSE-equivalent qualifications by taking part in the many activities on offer.

We'd like to hear from you.
