THE 25th Barrio Fiesta will take place in Lampton Park, Hounslow, tomorrow and Sunday despite rumours it had again been cancelled at the last minute.

Thousands of revellers are expected to descend on the park for the annual Filipino event, where crowds can enjoy a mixture of music, dance and traditional food.

A peace activist who was held hostage in Iraq will talk about his ordeal at a church in Hounslow on Thursday,July 16.

Norman Kember was one of four peace workers who were kidnapped by insurgents in November 2005 and spent four months in captivity before being freed in a raid.

Sports fans are invited to Inwood Park, Hounslow, on Sunday, for a day of traditional games.

Visitors are asked to bring a picnic and any sports equipment to the event, organised by SFIDA Women's Group.
