Refund promised for members of Hounslow gym hit by sudden closure
A cut-price gym in Hounslow West has closed suddenly, despite many members having paid for up to two years' membership in advance.
Vista Health Club & Spa, at the Vista Centre in Salisbury Road, opened to the public this time last year, with membership starting at just £3.99 a week.
However, members were stunned when they turned up for a workout last week only to be told it was now solely for use by employees.
The gym officially closed to the public on Monday, when the year's lease came to an end, following a dispute between the building's owners and the fitness centre manager Ashish Banymandhub.
However, Mr Banymandhub insisted all those who had paid in advance would get a full refund, either from him or the marketing companies they signed up through.
He claimed he wanted to extend the lease by 10 years and had been close to reaching an agreement, only for it to fall through at the eleventh hour.
Zul Virani, manager of the Vista Centre, said Mr Banymandhub had 'failed to fulfil his obligations' and claimed he only became aware this week that the gym had been offering two-year subscriptions.
About 400 members of the public had signed up to the gym, which was promoted as part of the Government's much-lauded Change 4 Life scheme to get people to lead more active lifestyles.
Members seeking a refund are advised to call Mr Banymandhub on 0770 2701 703, Ashbourne Collection on 01564 711 236 or Creative Business Marketing on 01242 691 334. Anyone paying by direct debit should cancel the payment immediately.

I think is great shame that the gym run by fitness centre manager Ashish Banymandhub had to close due to closure by the managers of the Vista Centre. I spoke to fitness centre manager Ashish Banymandhub in person on his phone and he was very helpful and told me to contact Ashbourne Collection and stop my direct debit with immediate affect and also to contact my bank and stop payments. He was extremely helpful and said how sorry he was that this was putting people out but this was out of his hand as the management of the building had pulled the contract and there was nothing he could now do. This all happened back in 7th Sept when the Vista Gym closed by the managers of the Vista Centre. I feel that they are trying to make the fitness centre manager Ashish Banymandhub the fall guy in all of this. But they need to take responsibility as it was there building and they were the ones that drew up the contract with the fitness centre manager Ashish Banymandhub so are responsible to make sure every thing was as should be. I think the Vista Centre management should take responsibility as well and as it is there primacies they should have also notified the public before now of the situation. The fitness centre manager Ashish Banymandhub had done all he could. He had left a notice with contact numbers for gym members to contact him and the numbers for Ashbourne Collection on 01564 711 236 or Creative Business Marketing on 01242 691 334. I always found the fitness centre manager Ashish Banymandhub and all his staff very helpful and friendly and it is a great shame that Zul Virani, manager of the Vista Centre could not come to an agreement with the fitness centre manager Ashish Banymandhub. I feel a lot of people are now missing out because of the Vista management. If the fitness centre manager Ashish Banymandhub had another gym in the area I would not have a problem with joining up with it as I had no problems with him or his staff I feel that the manager of the vista center are try to blame fitness centre manager Ashish Banymandhub for the closure but they took that decision out of his hands when they pulled his contract and closed him down. So you tell me who is to blame there. The manager of the Vista Centre need to take responserbilaty and stop trying to blame some one else for the inconvenience they caused people due to the decisions they made and were forced a pone others to have to deal with. It seams nothing seams to last to long in this Vista Centre for one reason or another.
I dont think that the last comment was written by a member of the public at all! Ashish perhaps???
FOR YOUR INFORMATION
The comments written on the 27 Oct 2009 was Written by a member of the public that was also a member of the gym.
I KNOW I WAS THAT PERSON AND IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ASHISH. IT WAS A TRUE COMMENT THAT WAS MADE ABOUT THE SITUATION THAT WAS BEING REPORTEDBY A PERSON THAT ATTENDED THE GYM REGULAR.
