Thousands of Hindus enjoy Hounslow temple's Ganesh festival

More than 10,000 people attended a Hindu festival organised by members of a Hounslow temple on Sunday.

The Ganesh Visarjan festival, held in Southend, was organised by the Jalaram Jupadi Seva Trust, based in Barrack Road, Hounslow.

Coachloads of worshippers made the trip from Hounslow and enjoyed food and dance alongside people from across the country.

The day ended at 6pm when a statue of Lord Ganesh, the Hindu god associated with wealth and well-being, was immersed in the sea.

This was the fifth year the Hounslow temple has organised the event and the celebrations were the biggest yet.

We'd like to hear from you.
