Fusiliers homecoming parade this Thursday

Posted by Robert Cumber on Nov 24, 09 12:28 PM in People

Soldiers from the Second Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, will take part in a homecoming parade through the streets of Hounslow on Thursday.

Troops returned to Hounslow Barracks at the end of October after six months in Afghanistan, during which seven soldiers were killed in action.

The battalion, which has been based in Hounslow since spring last year, will exercise its right to march for the first time after being given the Freedom of the Borough that morning.

Hundreds of soldiers, including a Colour Party and Corps of Drums, will set off from Hounslow bus station, in London Road, at 11am.

They will march up the High Street and along Lampton Road to Lampton Park, where they will be awarded medals before joining a private reception for soldiers and their families.

We'd like to hear from you.
