MS Society receives physio equipment thanks to Rotary

MS-House-005.jpgThe Rotary Club of Heston and Isleworth has once again come up trumps for the Hounslow branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society with £3000 worth of physio equipment and furniture for a brand new extension to the Society's meeting room.

The club has enjoyed a long and happy relationship with the Hounslow branch over many years, providing both financial and physical support on a regular basis.

Apart from assisting with manual work in keeping the property and grounds in good order and providing labour to assist with their various activities, the club provides and cooks a Christmas lunch for around 25 members each year on the premises.

Last year however, following long and drawn out discussions, it was decided that their meeting room should be extended in order to double its capacity to enable other local neurological organisations to avail themselves of the space available and also provide some annual income for its use.

PP Mike De Cort, who has a background in the building industry, joined the planning committee and agreed to draw up a specification and manage the building contract up to completion and subsequently donated the roofing element through his company.

The final contract value was in excess of £40,000 and the Rotary Club of Heston & Isleworth provided specialist physio equipment to the value of £2,000 for the opening and a further £1,000 for new furniture to improve and extend the meeting facility.

RC Heston & Isleworth's commitment to the Multiple Sclerosis Society is reviewed annually and most certainly the Christmas lunch will continue, supplemented by other much appreciated "hands on" activities.

We'd like to hear from you.
