It's the New Year and I have many resolutions that I made. All with good intentions of course but many of which have failed to materialise. But then again its quality and quantity that counts right?

So I am happy to say that I am still attending my weekly martial arts classes and am still enjoying it.

Council leaders have hailed the success of a new £1.8m CCTV system, which has helped police break up fights, tackle suspected drug dealers and even prevent a potential suicide attempt since being launched last month.

A new control room, from which police and council staff can monitor and control up to 200 cameras across the borough, was introduced with much fanfare in the middle of December.

A WOMAN died after being pulled from the first floor of her home during a blaze near Hounslow Heath.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was rescued from the terraced house in Beaulieu Close, Hounslow, in the early hours of New Year's Eve, but died three days later in hospital.

Police have been given new powers to confiscate alcohol from drinkers in Heston and Lampton parks in a bid to crack down on booze-fuelled crime.

The two parks, together with surrounding streets, will become controlled drinking zones (CDZ) from February 15.
