A woman has died after being pulled from the first floor of her home during a blaze near Hounslow Heath.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was rescued from the terraced house in Beaulieu Close, Hounslow, in the early hours of New Year's Eve, but died three days later in hospital.

Matthew Sephton, crew manager at Feltham Fire Station, said the woman was found unconscious in her bedroom after the fire broke out in the lounge.

"Two fire fighters did CPR on the woman and resuscitated her but unfortunately she died from her injuries in hospital three days later. The cause of the fire is under investigation," he added.

Anyone who would like a free fire safety check and smoke alarm should call 08000 284 428.
