Mystery Hounslow Resident Finds Winning Lottery Ticket

A lucky resident is starting their new year with a bang after finding a winning lottery ticket.

The mystery ticket holder from Hounslow responded to a National Lottery appeal for the owner of a ticket worth £306,327 to come forward.

It was bought somewhere in the borough on Saturday December 3 but was not claimed until Tuesday January 3.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: "We're delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win, it's certainly a great way to start 2012.

"It would have been awful if the ticket-holder had missed out on this substantial and life-enhancing amount of money. We would like to remind all National Lottery players to check their tickets every time they play."

The winning numbers from the draw were 1, 30, 35, 47, 48, 49 and the bonus ball was 8; the winner got five numbers and the bonus.

If the prize had not been claimed the prize money and its interest would have been donated to a National Lottery charity.
